Deep-insight appoints Michael Branagan as chairman | Cap Gemini Ernst & Young
announces a management shake-up

Deep-insight, an Irish-based  provider of CRM and human resources
management quality assessment solutions, has appointed Michael Branagan to the
position of chairman. Branagan, a chartered accountant by profession, was
responsible for setting up Indigo and Unison/Internet Ireland. He was previously
a member of the government appointed Information Society Steering Committee,
which devised Ireland's strategy for capitalising on ICT opportunities.



Deloitte & Touche has announced the promotion of David Hearn to the post
of partner-in-charge of management consulting in Ireland. Deloitte & Touche is a
provider of IT, e-business, enterprise systems, human resources, financial and
business strategy consulting. Hearn has worked for the company for 10 years.



Software company SAP has appointed Donal Reilly to the position of
commercial sector manager. Reilly previously worked for PeopleSoft Ireland. 



Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, Europe's biggest computer services company, has
announced a managerial shake-up along with a worldwide staff reduction of up to
5,500. Alexandre Haeffner has been appointed as the new chief operating officer,
while Paul Spence will head up the UK and Ireland operation, Mark Hauser will
head North American operations and Paul Thorley will be at the helm in Asia
Pacific.  



Opodo, a pan-European on-line travel portal, has announced that David
Coltman is to become its independent chairman. Coltman has previously worked for
United Airlines, British Airways and British Caledonian, where he was CEO.
Coltman is currently a director of John Menzies, the Edinburgh Worldwide
Investment Trust, the Trinity House Lighthouse Board and several private
companies.



US software group Peregrine Systems has announced the appointment of a new
chief financial officer. Ken Sexton of software company Merant replaces interim
CFO Fred Gerson. Peregrine is being investigated by the Securities and Exchange
Commission and plans to restate its results for the past 11 quarters.



Maynard Webb of Internet auction company eBay has been named as the
company's chief operating officer. Webb will retain his title as president of
eBay Technologies, but as COO he will coordinate other aspects of the company's
daily business. EBay's last COO, Brian Swette, stepped down from the position on
1 January. 

 

Warren Jenson, former chief financial officer of on-line retailer Amazon.com, is
to join games software company Electronic Arts. Jenson takes over from
Stan McKee, who is retiring after 13 years with the company. Jenson is one of
three executives to have left Amazon in the past few months.
