AT&T names new chief financial officer | Professor Alexander Roder has become
O2's chief information officer

AT&T Corp. named AMR Corp.'s Chief Financial Officer Thomas Horton as its
new chief financial officer, replacing Charles Noski. Horton will be a member of
AT&T's Office of the Chairman, alongside Noski, Chief Executive Officer, C.
Michael Armstrong, and President, David Dorman. Last month, Noski announced he
would leave AT&T when the company completes the USD72 billion sale of its cable
business to Comcast Corp.


MmO2 announced two senior appointments -- a chief operating officer of O2
Germany and a chief information officer for the group. Dr. Erwin Schmietow joins
as chief operating officer with responsibility for customer service, marketing
and continuing to increase sales in Germany. Formerly a board member at CompuNet
Computer AG, Schmietow managed sales and marketing of IT and networks products.
He later became responsible for CompuNet's client server business and corporate
customers. Prior to this, he worked for Siemens-Nixdorf Information Systems,
where he held a number of posts.


The new chief information officer for mmO2 will be Professor Alexander Roder, who
has held a similar position at O2 Germany since November last year. He now has
overall responsibility for the company's IT strategy and for the development and
operation of IT systems across all mmO2's operating businesses.


The Nasdaq Stock Market, announced the appointment of Thomas G. Stemberg,
founder of Staples; Thomas W. Weisel, chairman and chief executive officer of
Thomas Weisel Partners; and Mary Jo White, former United States Attorney for
the Southern District of New York and currently chair of the Litigation
Department at Debevoise & Plimpton, to the firm's board of directors.


Gerry Dunne, former commercial managing director with RTE, has joined
Escape Overseas as chairman and has taken a stake in the company. The on-line
holiday accommodation company is expected to raise equity investment of USD2
million in the coming weeks to fund expansion into the UK and central and
northern Europe.

Aisling Bolger has joined Beattie Media from Microsoft Ireland where she
held the position of marketing manager. With Beattie, Bolger now holds the
position of account director and prior to working with Microsoft, she was at Text
100.

Irish ICT group Xpert Technology has hired Dr Cormac McCarthy as managing
director. Previously, Dr McCarthy was a divisional business development director
at Eircom.


Data Exchange Corporation, a supply chain solutions provider for high tech
industries, announced that Steven L. Lonngren has joined the company as senior
vice president of sales & marketing. Lonngren brings over 13 years of management
experience in high-technology hardware, software and service sales. The new
executive has held top sales positions at a number of high technology and
services companies, including vice president of sales and business development at
Infosys Corporation, and vice president, sales and operations at Minarik
Corporation.


Unisys Corporation has hired H. Clayton (Clay) Foushee, Jr., Ph.D., a
23-year transportation industry veteran, to lead the Unisys Transportation
Security practice. Foushee has published extensively in the aerospace human
factors field and has presented at many industry conferences. He was chairman of
the Air Transport Association Operations Council and has served on numerous
government and industry advisory committees.

Sir Reg Empey, MLA, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Investment, announced this
week the name of a further and final appointment to the board of Invest
Northern Ireland
(Invest NI), the new economic development agency, which came
into existence in April 2002. Stephen Kingon, who is currently managing partner
with PricewaterhouseCoopers, joins the existing board members previously
announced by the Minister. This appointment completes the board, which now has a
total of 16 members, including Professor Fabian Monds, the Invest Northern
Ireland chairman.
