Yahoo names new chief operating officer | Fujitsu Siemens Computers has appointed eight new workers to its enterprise sales team in Ireland
EuroConex, the card payment processing solutions provider, announced the appointment of two senior European business development managers. Colum Rafferty has been appointed regional business development manager, Southern Europe. Prior to joining euroConex, Rafferty was business development director at Experian UK Limited for Spain, Italy, Holland and Turkey and prior to that he was sales manager at CR2 Group for the EMEA region. Jan Doskar has been appointed regional business development manager, Central/Eastern Europe. He formerly worked as a global account/project manager for Arksys/Euronet based in Hungary. Previously he was area manager - business development for Visa International.
MobileAware has appointed Jorg Kampers as sales director Central Europe. Most recently Kampers worked as director global service provider with Avaya, a provider of communications equipment, where he was responsible for managing sales and pre-sales activities across Central Europe and Africa.
Yahoo has appointed Daniel Rosensweig as chief operating officer. Most recently, Rosensweig was president of CNET Networks, a position he took on following the merger of ZDNet and CNET in 2000. Before joining CNET Networks, Rosensweig was an 18-year veteran of Ziff-Davis, where he served in many capacities, including president and chief executive officer of ZDNet, Inc. from 1997 to 2000.
Fujitsu Siemens Computers has recruited a specialised team to target the Irish enterprise computing sector. The enterprise team will be led by David Fitzgerald, enterprise sales director. Fitzgerald has been with Fujitsu Siemens Computers for a year and previously worked in Siemens Mobile Communications as head of products. He joined Fujitsu Siemens Computers from Siemens where he was responsible for large enterprise and volume sales. The team consists of eight members: David Fitzgerald, Orla McGrath, James Finnerty, Mark Verjans, Colm Spollen, Brian Doyle, Brian Robertson and Sinead Coughlan.
Matt Fox has been appointed Oracle development team leader at Manser Ltd for the Manser.ie product. Previously Fox worked as a software analyst/developer at Eircom.
Ergo, the specialist provider of technology solutions, managed services and IT products has appointed Hugh Goodhart to its management board.
Terry Calvani has been appointed a member of Ireland's Competition Authority. Calvani is currently a partner in US law firm Pillsbury Winthrop LLP specialising in competition matters. He served as a commissioner on the United States Federal Trade Commission from 1983 to 1990 and was acting chairman for a period in 1985 to 1986. He has lectured in antitrust for a number of years and has held a number of other academic positions.
The Nasdaq Stock Market has appointed Brian O'Malley as senior vice president and Internal Auditor and Josephine Misyak as vice president of administrative services.
Kate O'Mahony, barrister-at-law, has been appointed chairman of the Employment Appeals Tribunal. She replaces Mary Faherty who resigned to take up a position as a Circuit Court Judge. O'Mahony has served on the Tribunal as a vice-chairman for over three terms. Since the early nineties she has lectured in law at University College, Cork.
