Telecity appoints sales manager for Ireland | Telindus appoints general manager 

TeleCity, the pan European Internet hosting and IT services company, has
appointed Bob McClean as sales manager for its Irish operations and European
partner manager. Prior to joining TeleCity, McClean spent two years with the
Wolfe Group as commercial director and prior to that he was UK sales manager and
strategic partner manager with IMRGlobal, a Nasdaq-listed transitional
outsourcing company which has since been acquired by CGI.


European integrator, Telindus, has appointed Derek Collins as general
manager with responsibility for managing and building the business in Ireland.
Collins was a sales manager for City Reach International having previously held
various senior posts in Nortel Networks.


Ion Technologies, a data collection software company, has appointed Nelius
Phelan to the position of product development director. Phelan has previously
worked with Hasbro and Apple Computers as a lead software engineer. Immediately
before assuming this position, he was consultant software engineer with AIB
Group.

Symbian has appointed David Levin as chief executive officer. Levin is
currently chief executive officer of Psion plc and has been a non-executive
director of Symbian since September 2000. He joined Psion as chief executive in
February 1999 after five years with Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC, where
he was chief operating officer.

CRM solution consultants, Ventis, announced the promotion of Mairtin
O'Duinnin to the position of manager, business services consulting with
responsibility for the design, development and delivery of global CRM initiatives
to Irish-based and worldwide clients. He previously worked as business analyst
with Colgate Palmolive Europe where he was responsible for implementation of
materials management SAP applications in multiple European
manufacturing/distribution sites.


ITSMA, the advisor to companies that market and sell technology services,
has appointed Terry Hannington as managing director of ITSMA Europe, with
responsibility for expanding ITSMA's member base of technology,
telecommunications, and IT consulting companies. Previously Hannington has worked
at senior levels with companies such as Olivetti, global systems integrator Olsy,
and Diebold.


Dr. Jim Ryan has recently been appointed as an adviser to Buchanan Ingersoll's
Biotechnology Practice
in Ireland. Previously Ryan he was director of
BioResearch Ireland, Ireland's national biotech programme; and prior to that
was project manager at the National Board for Science and Technology.


Invest Northern Ireland has announced two further appointments. The post
of managing director of entrepreneurship and enterprise in Invest Northern
Ireland will be filled by Professor Terri Scott who is currently director of
development duties at the University of Ulster. Professor Scott's previous posts
have included those of Dean of regional development and Head of School (Computing
and Mathematical Sciences) at the University. Tracy Meharg will be appointed as
the agency's managing director of innovation and capability development. She is
currently the executive director in the Industrial Development Board with
responsibility for the ICT sector.




TMP Worldwide Inc., has appointed Brian Farrey to the new position of
president, TMP Technologies. Farrey will oversee all technology initiatives and
services serving TMP's global operations.
