Baltimore names new chief financial officer | New chief executive officer
appointed at Openet Telecom



Baltimore Technologies has appointed Phil Smith as the company's chief
financial officer and as a director. Since October 2001 Smith has been interim
chief financial officer and prior to this he headed up the finance function at
Bookham Technology plc.

Openet Telecom has appointed John Rainger to the position of chief
executive officer. Rainger joins from Lucent Technologies where he held the
position of chief operating officer of the software products group based in New
Jersey. Prior to this he was vice president for Europe, Middle East and Africa at
Kenan Systems.

Cable & Wireless has appointed Robbie Fitzpatrick as assistant customer
service director of its Irish systems integration division. Fitzpatrick began his
career in Cable & Wireless in 1980 following a stint with the Department of Posts
& Telegraphs (now Eircom). During his time with Cable & Wireless he has worked in
a variety of customer service management roles ranging from field engineering
management to overseeing the maintenance department.

Rob Meakin has resigned as human resources director of Marconi and will
also leave the board of the company. Neil Sutcliffe, a member of the company's
executive committee, who is currently responsible for the capital division within
Marconi, will now also assume responsibility for human resources.

Yahoo has appointed Christine Castro as senior vice president and chief
communications officer. An executive with more than twelve years of experience in
corporate communications and public relations, Castro previously was vice
president, corporate communications at the Walt Disney Company.

Unisys Corporation has named Richard D. Badler, head of corporate
communications and Robert D. Evans, president of global outsourcing, senior vice
presidents of the corporation. Carol Sabochick has been elected vice president
and corporate controller. Badler joined Unisys in 1998 as a corporate vice
president. Evans has served as president of global outsourcing for Unisys since
December 1999, the same year that he was appointed corporate vice president.
Sabochick previously held corporate finance positions at AstraZeneca
Pharmaceuticals and has more than 12 years experience in public accounting.


Novell has announced that Dr. Carl S. Ledbetter has been appointed senior
vice president, engineering/research & development. He also retains his chief
technology officer role. Ledbetter will be responsible for all Novell
engineering, research and development, and product management worldwide.
Ledbetter has been a Novell senior vice president since joining the company in
late 1999, and has previously held the positions of chief technology officer and
senior vice president, business and corporate development.


Chordiant Software has appointed Craig Probert as managing director, UK
and Ireland. Prior to joining Chordiant, Probert worked for two and a half years
with Tenfold and for eleven years with Oracle. At Tenfold he served as vice
president of European sales while at Oracle, he performed a number of roles
including director of financial services, as well as overseeing the activities of
Oracle's manufacturing groups and network computer subsidiaries in Northern
Europe.


LastMinuteTravel has appointed Jane Butler to the position of president of
the company. She joins LastMinuteTravel with an extensive background in on-ine
travel sales and marketing. She was an early employee of DoubleClick, Inc. where
she spent over four years as the company's on-line travel specialist, responsible
for all relationships and revenue associated with travel Web sites and
advertisers.
