Fran Rooney joins Epionet's Board | Yahoo appoints chief advertising sales officer
Epionet, an Irish Web services development company, has appointed Fran Rooney to its board. Rooney, the former chief executive of Baltimore Technologies, will greatly enhance Epionet's ability to target key international markets, according to the company. Rooney will form part of a strong board, which will be responsible for guiding Epionet through the coming years.
Yahoo has appointed Wenda Harris Millard as chief advertising sales officer. Millard will be responsible for driving the North American sales of the company's advertising and marketing services initiatives and leading the North American sales organisation. Millard was formerly chief Internet officer at Ziff Davis Media and president of Ziff Davis Internet. Prior to joining Ziff Davis Media, Millard was executive vice president and one of the founding members of DoubleClick.
Cara Group has announced four new appointments. Paul Bealin has been appointed sales specialist for network integration solutions in Cara's IT cabling business. Will Taylor joins as an Internet security consultant focusing on firewall and intrusion detection solutions. James Farrell joins as a business development executive for the company's professional services, while Wendy Gay has joined as technical consultant.
NTL Europe has appointed Otto Rathsman to the new position of chief financial officer for continental Europe. Rathsman joins from GE where he most recently held the position of chief financial officer - GE Medical Systems Europe. Prior to this he spent several years with GE's Lighting Division, during which he played a role in building its Asian business and later consolidating European activities.
Jacinta Ryan has been appointed account director at high tech public relations firm, Simpson Financial & Technology PR. She joined the firm in 1998 and prior to that worked as a freelance journalist.
Datalex has appointed financier Paschal Taggart to its board as a non-executive director. Taggart is a partner in Cooney Taggart financial consultants and advises a number of major Irish companies. He is also chairman of Orbiscom and Bord na gCon.
Diederik Karsten has resigned from his position as chief executive officer of KPN Mobile. His duties will, until further notice, be taken over by Paul Smits, who is responsible for the mobile communications portfolio within the KPN board of management.
