Entropy appoints Chief Operations Officer | StepStone appoints Marketing Director

Entropy, the Irish Internet security company, has appointed Fionan O'Driscoll as Chief Operations Officer. O'Driscoll, the former General Manager of Sage Ireland, has also been appointed to the Company Board. He will be responsible for steering the company through its immediate expansion plans. Prior to Sage Ireland, O'Driscoll worked as Director of Business Management for the software services company Modus Media International and worked abroad as a management consultant in London and operations manager for Schlumberger in Europe.

StepStone, the on-line career portal, has announced the appointment of Una McGurk to the position of Marketing Director in Ireland. Prior to her appointment at StepStone, McGurk was brand manager for Coca Cola in Ireland. She previously held management positions with Johnson & Johnson and Rank Xerox (UK).

NSP, the Internet technology company, has announced the appointment of Stephen Quinn as Sales Director. Quinn will be responsible for the sales, marketing and operations of the company.

NSP has also announced the appointment of Roderick Smyth as Technical Director. Smyth will be responsible for the technical direction and strategy of the company.

Mirador Software, the middleware banking company, has announced two key appointments: Niamh Fitzpatrick as Head of Research and Development and Brendan O'Sullivan as Head of Product Development.

Fitzpatrick worked with Allied Irish Banks in a research and development role, specialising in the area of middleware technologies prior to joining Mirador Software. O'Sullivan worked as an IT solutions contractor for banking industry clients such as The Royal Bank of Scotland and Allied Irish Banks. He assumes responsibility for all aspects of product development including mobile and Internet applications delivery and user interface design and development.

KBS Solutions, the banking and financial software house, has announced the appointment of Bill O'Dea to its board of Directors. Bill is a software entrepreneur with over 10 years experience at board level with several technology companies in Ireland and the UK. He will play a key role in the development and implementation of business strategy for the Company.

Vistech Software, the Internet product development company, has announced two new senior appointments. James McCarthy is appointed to the position of Financial Controller. Previously, McCarthy was the financial controller for Warner Lambert Export Ltd, and, prior to that, finance manager with H&K Europe.

Canice Bowe has been appointed as Development Manager with responsibility for project delivery, quality, and support functions at its development centre in Cork. Prior to joining Vistech, Bowe was the Technical Lead and Senior Project Manager in Apple Computer.

Avocent International has appointed a senior Irish business figure, John Dunne, as the first member of the corporation's newly created international Strategic Advisory Board. Dunne is the former Director General of IBEC and is the Chairman of IDA Ireland. Along with other international members, yet to be named, Dunne will be responsible for advising the corporation on its overall business strategy, particularly as it relates to European markets.
