According to Xiam, the new Mobile Internet Edition of its Information Router software permits the secure routing of information between enterprises and mobile users using WAP, I-mode or SMS.
The new product was launched at CeBIT in Hannover.
Customers, staff and partners will be able to securely retrieve critical information stored on enterprise computer networks -- including e-mail, CRM and ERP systems -- using any Internet-enabled mobile device.
"Mobile operators and the larger enterprise market are facing two distinct challenges," said Colm Healy, Xiam's Chief Operating Officer. "Operators need to capture new revenue streams in a market where the demand for data services is growing. And the general business market in turn is always striving for increased efficiency and improved customer relationships. The Xiam Information Router meets both these challenges and also provides a first step towards future 3G offerings."
Xiam, a software development company which specialises in Information Routing, has its headquarters in Dublin and offices in London, Paris, Singapore and Tokyo with a customer base spread through Europe and Asia.
Last year the Xiam concluded a major deal with Eircell which saw the mobile phone company offering comprehensive, bi-directional SMS capabilities to corporate clients.
The Xiam Information Router offers two-way, rules-based communication between mobile users and the main systems within an enterprise: mail servers, Web servers, corporate databases and event servers.
