Eontec appoints senior vice president in Canada | Joseph Cowan re-appointed as chairman of the board of Enterprise Ulster
Eontec has appointed Andy Staniewski as senior vice president of its Canadian operations in Toronto. Staniewski comes to Eontec from Netron, a Toronto-based software firm specialising in application development products and services. During his 17 years with that company, Staniewski held a number of positions including chief operating officer, vice president of sales and marketing, and most recently, president.
McData Corporation announced the promotion of Peter Dougherty to vice president of business development and strategic alliances. Prior to the vice president assignment, Dougherty was responsible for managing McData's software solutions. Prior to joining McData, he held various, marketing, management and engineering positions at Western Digital Corporation and Unisys Corporation.
Barnes & Noble.com has appointed Kevin Frain to the position of chief financial officer. Frain has been the vice president of finance for Barnes & Noble.com since early 2001. Prior to that he was treasurer of the company. He joined Barnes & Noble.com in 1996 as finance manager and in 1999 he was promoted to the position of director of finance. Prior to joining Barnes & Noble, he was vice president, treasurer of Jamesway Corporation, a regional mass merchandise retailer.
Enrico Marinelli has resigned from his position of a non executive director of ebookers plc.
The Board of Enterprise Ulster has re-appointed Joseph Cowan as chairman. A former teacher, he entered the Northern Ireland Civil Service in 1974 and held a number of positions in the Department of the Environment until his retirement in 1998. Alice Quinn has been appointed as a new member of the board for a two-year period from 01 March 2002. Four members have been re-appointed to the board for a further three years; Sylvia Butcher, James Collins, William and Irvine McKay. Other members of the board are Anne Rutledge and Jim Cooper.
Newstalk 106, the Dublin-based news radio station which is due to go live in early April, has appointed Diarmuid O'Leary, former business development manager with Today FM, as head of sales.
The Irish Direct Marketing Association has appointed six new members to its board for the coming year. The new members of the board are Neil Cooke from PHS, Martin Crilly of IDS Marketing, Kieran Killeen of Marketing Network, Barbara Lowe of Bill Moss & Associates, Cathy McGovern of Inspiration and Ernie Parker of PMI.
