Network365 said that Hong Hong's CSL has deployed its mzone avatar system | Xbox
leads Playstation and GameCube in sales
Gateway is introducing a new paid service called Answers by Gateway, to
give help to consumers and small businesses using, installing and troubleshooting
software applications. The company will offer cards with 30, 60 or 120 minutes
of telephone support time for more than 150 of the most popular PC applications.
Customers use them just like a pre-paid calling card, and can recharge them with
additional minutes as needed. Prices for the cards are USD49 for the 30 minutes,
USD79 for the 60 minutes and USD129 for the 120 minutes.

Network365 announced that Hong Kong mobile operator, CSL has deployed
mzone avatar to bring secure mobile payment services to its customers. CSL will
now enable its customers to transact mobile payments using credit cards, and
later debit cards, prepaid cards, vouchers and loyalty points via Network365's
mzone avatar secure mobile wallet.

The Xbox video game system from Microsoft had the best-selling video game console
launch on record after two weeks of sales. According to the NPD Group,
gamers are buying 2.4 Xbox games with every Xbox, resulting in the highest game
attach rate ever recorded for a console at launch. Sony Computer Entertainment
America sold 1.9 games with every PlayStation 2 during the first two weeks of its
launch last year and Nintendo has sold 1.9 games with every GameCube to date.

Gains International, a provider of data and voice services for financial
institutions, is using Ebone's IP network to provide mission-critical
communication services to its financial customers in Luxemburg. As a result of
the service levels provided by Ebone, Gains International also plans to use Ebone
as a key provider of network services in other parts of Europe.


Calaba's wireless directory and search service has been chosen by mmO2
subsidiary Manx Telecom as the search engine for Europe's first commercial 3G
network, which was switched on this week. The 3G search service hosted by Calaba
allows users to search for content within the 3G network, or from the entire
world of mobile information. Users can also browse a wireless directory,
finding sites relevant to their preferred combination of subject, language and
location.

Logica announced a live trial implementation of its multimedia messaging
service (MMS) with Orange on Thursday. This development enables the delivery of
mobile messages containing audio, pictures, animation and real-time video
streaming. The trial is the first step towards full carrier-class implementation
and represents a major step forward in the evolution of MMS.

Alcatel announced the sampling of its new Bluetooth baseband chip on
Thursday. The chip, called the MTC-60180, is according to the company, the first
Bluetooth chip on the market offering complete V1.1 functionality with proven
interoperability.

Compaq Computer jumped to the number six position on Interactive Week's
2001 Interactive 500, moving up 13 spots from the number 19 position last year.
Compaq currently generates nearly one-half of its annual revenue, or about USD20
billion, through its e-commerce operations. The Interactive 500 is a complete
listing of the most successful on-line players based on revenue generated from
the companies' e-commerce operations.
