Moviso and The Motion Picture and Television Archive have plans to put celebrity photos and graphics on mobile phones.
Moviso LLC and The Motion Picture and Television Archive (MPTV), this week announced a worldwide licensing deal that will put celebrity photos and graphics on mobile phones. This will enable consumers to choose from a library of over one million images for downloading to mobile devices.
Moviso has a large catalogue of mobile media in North America and delivers this content to mobile operators, mobile device manufacturers, entertainment companies, media companies and retailers.
Moviso's deal with MPTV allows consumers to personalise their handsets with classic images from the 1910s to the present, including favourites like Ava Gardner, James Dean and Elvis Presley.
"Personalisation is paramount when it comes to mobile devices, and making something look, feel or behave in a unique and personal way is just natural human behaviour," said Mark Levy, vice president of publishing at Moviso LLC.
MPTV founder Sid Avery started the company with the goal to preserve, document and promote the most outstanding past and present photography from all facets of the entertainment industry. MPTV represents the work of nearly 50 photographers, with more than a million historical Hollywood images on file.
"Our goal at MPTV is not only to preserve the great works of photographers, but also help people enjoy the art in as many ways possible," said Joe Martinez, director of digital resources at MPTV.
The graphics will be available this summer on a premium basis to Moviso's select carrier and operator customers worldwide that offer compatible handsets, as well as forthcoming handset models with enhanced media capabilities.
