Spear IT Ireland announces key appointments | Ion Technologies appoints technical director

E-business software provider Spear IT has announced two new appointments. Tony Scott has been appointed managing director and Denise Smith has been appointed IT director. Scott joins the company from Cable & Wireless Global where he was vice president. Smith previously worked with Cable & Wireless, Stentor and Digifone.

Ion Technologies, a data collection software company, has appointed Shane Kavanagh as technical director. Kavanagh has previously worked with Apple Computer, and immediately before assuming this position, he was consultant engineer with AIB Group.

Nevada tele.com has appointed Emer Golden as all-Ireland sales director. Previously Golden held the position of sales director, Republic of Ireland. Prior to that she worked with Esat Telecom and with Anderson Consulting.

Information security company Sysnet has appointed Denis Connolly as business development manager. He joins the company from Trintech.

Sage Ireland has appointed Clare Denvir as training centre manager and John Antunes as division manager with the Sage accounts division. Prior to joining Sage Denvir was joint director/training manager for Productive Solutions. Antunes previously worked for TAS Software South Africa where he was general manager.

The GSM Association (GSMA) has elected Craig Ehrlich to the position of deputy chair. Craig Ehrlich, executive director of Hong Kong GSM mobile phone company, Sunday Communications Limited, takes over as deputy chairman from Jim Pratt, representing Australia's Singtel Optus, who in turn takes over as chairman from Scott Fox on completion of his term of office on 30 April 2002. As the deputy chair Ehrlich is also chair-elect for 2003/2004 and becomes a member of the GSM Association's executive committee.

Data Solutions, the distributor of information and communication technology solutions, has appointed John Dalton as account manager. Prior to this Dalton was a sales executive at Cara.

Enterasys Networks Inc. has appointed Didier Lebret-Renault as technical sales manager for Ireland. Based in Shannon, Lebret-Renault will head Enterasys' sales operation. Lebret-Renault previously held the position of pre-sales technical consultant with Enterasys, and prior to that he spent 3 years as a consultant with e-business solutions provider Attachmate in Shannon.

IT professional services organisation Complete Network Technology has announced three senior appointments. Kevin Murphy has been appointed as business development director. Murphy joins from Enterasys Networks where he held the position of territory sales manager for Ireland. Prior to this, he was a co-founder of Advec Core Systems.

Ray Hill has been appointed sales director. Most recently, Hill was sales manager with Esat/BT Ignite and prior to this held the position of technical manager with BridgeCom. Billy Manley has taken up the position of operations director. Prior to joining Complete Network Technology, Manley was technical engineering manager with Esat/BT Ignite and managing director with Advec Core Systems.
