Carphone Warehouse reported a 696 percent increase in Irish earnings in its interim results to 29 September 2001. Irish turnover increased by 128 percent and new connections grew by 36 percent. The company claims that its share of the Irish market is now 17 percent. The group as a whole said that turnover for the period ending 29 September 2001 increased 20 percent to STG539.6 million and EBITDA before exceptionals increased 38 percent to STG21.6 million. Headline EPS (earnings per share) in the period increased by 29 percent from STG0.69 to STG0.89.
Cork-based Aardvark Digital Media has released ACE (Aardvark Content Editor), a software solution that let users upload content to the Web without the need for any knowledge of HTML. Features of ACE include a rich text page editor, an HTML e-mail generator and e-mail list management systems.
.biz, the new Internet business top-level domain, went live on Wednesday. NeuLevel, the registry operator for .biz, formally activated over 160,000 pre-registered .biz domain names from more than 150 countries and started taking registrations for additional names on a first-come, first-served basis.

Eurologic Systems has signed a national distribution agreement for Ireland with enterprise storage integrator, Xnet. The move forms part of a strategic international expansion of channel marketing activities. Xnet will offer Eurologic's network storage solutions as part of their range of offerings to corporate end-users in the Irish marketplace.
