Ryanair is first in Irish Web site list
Monday, April 30 2001
by Mary O'Neill

Internet advertising agency, New MediaLive, has published the latest top 40 list
of Irish Web sites that accept advertising.
The list is based on traffic to Web sites over a one-month period between January
and March 2001.
The list shows Ryanair.com in the number one position with almost 32 million page
impressions. This represents a 13.9 percent increase in Ryanair's page
impressions since December 2000. Ireland.com ranks second, with an ABCe audited
figure of over 24 million page impressions. This represents an increase of
approximately eight million page impressions on the last ABCe audited figures
carried out in March 2000.
Also in the top five are RTE online, Unison and Oceanfree.net, and significant
increases were also recorded for The Irish Examiner and Pigsback.com.
New additions to the list include MyHome.ie, and Oxygen, along with recruitment
sites Monster.ie and Recruit Ireland.
"A new recruitment company gets added every time we publish a new list. It's
only natural with all the companies that have closed recently that more people
will be looking on-line for jobs," Ciara Lawlor, marketing manager of New
MediaLive told ElectricNews.Net.
Gone from the list are the Eircom sites and any sites that were published by
RondoMondo. Lawlor commented that there is nothing 'too surprising' about the
latest list.
The company has also included for the first time a list of the Top 20 e-zines.
The Irish Examiner has ranked number one in this list, with approximately 117,000
subsribers to its weekly e-zine.
New Medialive seeks where possible to verify traffic figures and the latest list
contains four sites which have been ABCe audited.
