Spear IT appoints new directors | Ebookers Ireland appoints marketing manager

Spear IT, an e-business software provider, has appointed two senior executive directors to head up its recently established business in Ireland. Tony Scott has been appointed managing director of Spear IT Ireland, where he will be primarily responsible for developing and managing Spear IT's business expansion throughout Ireland. Scott's most recent position was as vice president at Cable & Wireless Global in Shannon. Denise Smith has been appointed IT director of Spear IT Ireland, where she will be responsible for the provision of service development, support and training. She previously held a number of IT and customer service related positions in Cable & Wireless, Stentor and Digifone.

Ebookers plc has appointed Paula Thomas as marketing manager for Ireland. Prior to joining Thomas spent six years in the Middle East, most recently as e-commerce marketing manager for Emirates Airline, Dubai, UAE. and before that as area marketing and distribution executive for Middle East and South Asia for British Airways.

Sysnet, the independent information security consultancy, has appointed Denis Connolly as business development manager. In his new role, Connolly will head up Sysnet's corporate division with responsibility for the development of the company's consultancy business and the management of existing corporate relationships. He joins Sysnet from Trintech where he was employed as business development manager.

Deep-Insight has appointed Karen Casey to the position of service support executive. Previously, Casey held customer facing positions with Cascade Designs, and Black and Decker SSC, both based in Cork.

Colt Telecom Group plc announced that chief financial officer Lawrence M. Ingeneri is stepping down from both his executive role and his position on the board. Ingeneri was appointed chief financial officer in July 1996 and was appointed to the board in June 2001. Prior to joining Colt he was senior vice president finance and chief financial officer of Ascom Timeplex.

Deloitte & Touche Management Consultants announced the promotions of William Dolan and John Shelley to directors of Deloitte's ERP service lines.

Richard Reid has joined Whitelite as general manager of the communications division of the Carlow based electrical design and engineering services company. Joining the company from Eircom where he was senior corporate account manager, Richard is leading the launch of the Ascom range of ISDN telephone systems -- Ireland's first IP (Internet Protocol) ready PBX telephone system. The company recently secured the sole Irish distribution rights for this advanced range of Swiss telephone systems.
